Bestående av tre mikrotonale tubaer, utforsker Microtub instrumentets muligheter fra et mikrotonalt perspektiv. Fargekodede skulpturpartiturer blir brukt for å definere områder i det harmoniske rommet, og presenterer geometriske strukturer som over tid blir utforsket av musikerne.
De har opptrådt på festivaler i Norge, Frankrike og Østerrike, og turnerte i Tyskland og Japan i 2012.
I mai 2016 ble de invitert til festivalen FIMAV i Quebec, Canada. Her urfremførte de musikken som blir utgitt på albumet Bite of the Orange i februar 2017.

Perhaps none did so more than Microtub, with Robin Hayward, Peder Simonsen, and Martin Taxt playing three of the world’s four microtonal tubas. I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
