Synthwave-heltene Dance With The Dead (US) kommer til Sub Scene!
Se for deg en dose tv-spill og 80-talls horrorsoundtracks, en dose metall, og en heftig saus av synth og suggerende elektronika! Duoen Justin Pointer og Tony Kim fra California slapp sitt debutalbum ”Out Of Body” i 2013 til overveldende mottakelse fra både synth-, metal- og EDM-miljøet. De har siden den gang sluppet en rekke album og EP’er. I 2015 startet de som liveband og har siden den gang gjort større headlinerturneer både i USA og Europa. Justin og Tony har kjent hverandre fra barndommen og er inspirert av 80-tallsfilmene de vokste opp med, samt riffa til både Mötley Crüe og Pantera, så vel som elektronika-pionerene Daft Punk, og de har gjort remixer av alt fra Metallica til Queen. Fans av Perturbator og Magic Sword bør kjenne sin besøkelsestid denne kvelden!
Das Mörtal
Kanadisk-chilenske Das Mortal har skapt en mørk og nostalgisk sound, der han sørger for en generasjonsblanding av alt fra tysk techno, b-filmsoundtracker, 90-tallets tv-spillmusikk og vår tids Youtube-kultur. Musikken er inspirert av blant annet navn som Steve Moore og Aphex Twin. Han slapp Hotline Miami II i 2014 fulgt opp av en mengde EP’er før debutalbumet, Always Loved, kom i 2017. Utgivelsene har mange millioner plays på streamingtjenester og ført til bl.a. listeplasseringer og omfattende turnering sammen med blant annet Perturbator. Das Mortal jobber for tiden med andrealbumet og leverer et show med dansbar og melankolsk synthwave.
Om man tar det lekne fra Battles, voldsomme fra Monolothic og undrende i Residents, får man noe som kan minne om Globox. Duoen består av Gaute Falch på trommer og samples og Brage Pedersen på gitar, synth og vokal.
Sammen med deres haltende rytmer og støvete samples, kantete gitarriff dynket i ring modulator, skaper de et eget lydunivers som bryter med konvensjonelle strukturer. Globox tar med lytteren på en reise som villeder og fenger.
