Lørdag 8. juni ønsker vi velkommen til utstillingsåpning! New Standards forteller historien om en av Finlands største men stort sett ukjente designsuksesser: flatpakkede trehus!
I 2019 fikk Juuso Westerlund i oppdrag å fotografere eksisterende Puutalo-hus i Colombia, Danmark og Finland. Bildene hans viser ikke bare arkitektur og gatemiljø, men er også portretter av menneskene som bor i husene, fra bodybuilderen som selger vitaminsupplement i Barranquila, Colombia, til den eldre damen som demonstrerer hvordan hun har lagt krøllene under hårføneren i Århus, Danmark.
I utstillingen sees Westerlunds bilder sammen med spennende materiale fra Puutalo Oys arkiver som i dag er spredt på flere ulike institusjoner.
Organisasjonen Archinfo i Finland har produsert utstillingen som opprinnelig ble laget til Finlands paviljong under arkitekturbiennalen i Venezia i 2021. Kuratorene Laura Berger, Philip Tidwell og Kristo Vesikansa står for idé og research.

Vi hører fra Katarina Siltavuori, direktør ved Archinfo, før det blir en panelsamtale mellom kuratorene Laura Berger og Kristo Vesikansa og fotograf Juuso Westerlund. Moderator: Marthe T. Fjellestad, kurator Perspektivet Museum.
Det blir musikalske innslag og servering av boblebrus. Varighet ca 1 time.

Et besøk på Perspektivet Museum gir fortellinger med utgangspunkt i Tromsø, men også fra andre steder i verden. Tanken er å gi kunnskap og undring rundt det å være menneske med et utsiktspunkt fra nord. Du møter historiske gjenstander, spor fra samtiden, foto og ulike kunstuttrykk.
