Under det bittersøte navnet Sweet Like Chili blander Tysfjord-søstrene Rikke (19) og Sofie (22) popmelodier med energisk piano og synth, og klarstemte harmonier.
Bandet har tilbrakt mye tid i studio for å jobbe med debutalbumet sitt. Men før det kommer skal førstesingelen "Ghost", som har fått spilletid på NRK Nordland så vel som NRK P3, få flere musikalske brødre og søstre.
Et eksempel på det er det rebelske pop-anthemet "Don't Tell", som ble sluppet 21. april.
Samtidig som de har vært mye i studio har Sweet Like Chili brukt tida på å spille konserter, og har jobbet for å utvikle et stemningsfullt så vel som energisk liveuttrykk.
De har stått på scenen på en håndfull av de viktigste festivalene i nord, som Trænafestivalen og Nordland musikkfestuke, og skal spille konserter både nord og sør i landet i løpet av sommeren sammen med bandet sitt, bestående av Thomas Bottolfsen på bass og Andreas Lunde Grindstein på trommer.
Én av disse konsertene utspiller seg i Kjøpsvik kirke 3. juli.
- Vi er stolte over og glade for å ha vokst opp i Tysfjord, og er utrolig takknemlige for støtten vi opplever å ha hjemmefra. Vi gleder oss masse til å komme hjem for å spille konsert, og håper å se så mange kjente fjes som mulig, sier Rikke og Sofie.
