BOLT was founded in 2016 by drummer Ronny after a few years with no permanent band. Five old friends got together and formed the band. Their leading songwriter Tommy had a few finished tunes that were never released and this was the start for BOLT's first studio album, "Wild Children".
In 2020 there was a line-up change due to personal issues and other interests, and in came a new rhythm guitar player and lead singer. With the new line up the band quickly went from melodic metal to a more metalcore sound, and nine new songs were written in a matter of weeks.
Due to Covid restrictions there were no live gigs and the band instead headed to the studio to track the album "All Hands Unite", which was released in 2021. Lead singer and songwriter Fredrik Sindsen is running a studio called Rockworks Records, and everything was done from there.
Seeing as covid kept on giving further restrictions BOLT already have a follow up album in the works as well.
And now the band is extremely eager to show their material live for both the country and the rest of the world.

The inception of UNDER THE OAK took place in the not-too-distant past. Initially it was just about friends coming together to honor their speed and thrash metal heroes from the eighties, and they fashioned themselves being a tribute band of that era.
With songs from Exodus, Testament, Flotsam & Jetsam, Candlemass and so on, they made a respectable set, and they played some shows doing only covers. But as they were progressing, their own thrash-riffs started turning up. Suddenly they had a bundle of their own songs and they started putting a few UNDER THE OAK-originals into the shows. The result of this was the album "Ripped Up by the Roots" (2020).
Today they have evolved into a combo with one foot in the thrash metal camp and the other in more traditional heavy metal. Comfortably paying homage to the eighties, they still do the odd cover song, but usually their live sets now weigh heavily on their own material. This will be even furthered with the release of their second album, "Rattus Norvegicus", on September 2nd.
