Fra den prisvinnende regissøren Amat Escalante får vi servert dette fyrverkeriet av en film satt til den turbulente grensen mellom Mexico og USA.
Vi treffer de to illegale immigrantene Fausto og Jesus som livnærer seg på løsarbeid i USA. Filmen strekker seg over et døgn i deres liv, og tar oss med på en dag utenom det vanlige for de to.Vanligvis består deres rutinemessige hverdag av lavtlønnet fysisk arbeid, men i denne arbeidsdagen må de benytte seg av andre og mer farlige verktøy enn de er vant til, men det er også en betraktelig høyere betaling i vente for dem hvis alt går etter planen.
Los Bastardos er en provoserende, rå og ekte film som tar oss med til den kriminelle undergrunnen i dette konfliktfylte grenseområdet, og som ved hjelp av sin ukonvensjonelle form gir oss innblikk i den vanskelige hverdagen til Amerikas ulovlige arbeidsinnvandrere.
English: In a 24-hour period, the film follows the two undocumented day laborers Fausto and Jesus who take on a high-risk job out of the ordinary, which includes deadlier tools than they are used to work with.
