For 3. år på rad får vi besøk av Hot Club de Norvège - Norges hotteste liveband!
Med utgangspunkt i musikken til den legendariske sigøynergitaristen Django Reinhardt har de i dag kommet frem til sitt eget uttrykk, og et unikt sound. De turnerer over hele kloden, og har samarbeidet med alle de store innen genren, fra Stéphane Grappelli til Jimmy Rosenberg, foruten artister som Vertavokvartetten, Nigel Kennedy, Angelo Debarre og Ulf Wakenius.
HOT CLUB DE NORVEGE har gitt ut over 30 kritikerroste plater (samtlige tilgjengelig på iTunes, Spotify, Wimp, osv), og feirer i år sitt 36-års jubileum med turnéer i inn- og utland, og lanserer sitt ferskeste album, CAUTION HOT, innspilt sammen med fire av Djangomusikkens største utøvere: Adrien Moignard (gitar), Florin Niculescu (fiolin), Ben Powell (fiolin) og Gonzalo Bergara (gitar).
Gruppa ble etablert i 1979, og allerede året etter startet de Djangofestivalen i Norge (1980), senere Hot Club Records (1982). De var pådrivere da Djangomusikken fikk sin internasjonale oppblomstring på 90-tallet, og regnes nå internasjonalt blant Djangomusikkens originale pionerer.
De har blitt nominert til Spellemannprisen - en pris som allerede i 1982 ble tildelt samarbeidet med Lillebjørn Nilsen; klassikeren Tanta til Beate (”Landeplage” på NRK TV). Frontmann Jon Larsen har fått prisen Årets Verk for ny musikk, Buddyprisen (årets jazzmusiker, 2007), Oslo Bys Kunstnerpris (2008), og Thorbjørn Egners Kardemommepris (2009). Dokumentarfilmen “Jon & Jimmy” ble tildelt den nederlandske Edison Award (2010).
HOT CLUB DE NORVEGE live er en helt egen stemning, og repertoaret spenner fra utadvendt swing, via inderlige ballader og en og annen sang. Stilistisk faller de mellom alle stoler, og det er kanskje noe av hemmeligheten bak Hot Clubs suksess?
HOT CLUB DE NORVEGE består av Jon Larsen (gitar), Finn Hauge (munnspill og fiolin), Per Frydenlund (gitar), og Svein Aarbostad (bass).
