Foredrag: Svigermor kommer!
«Det er ingen grunn til å male fanden på veggen – hvis du har et bilde av svigermor hengende», har det blitt hevdet. Det sies også at «en datter er en datter hele sitt liv, en sønn er en sønn til han møter sin viv.» Hva kan vitser og ordtak som dette fortelle oss om svigermor, kvinner og menn, samlivsformer og familiemønstre?
Det får vi høre mer om når kulturhistoriker Gjertrud Sæter gjester Sigdal Museum 25. april. Hun er førstekonservator ved Norsk Folkemuseum og den eneste i Norden som har tatt doktorgrad på temaet svigermødre.
Gjennom eksempler fra folkediktning, ukebladfortellinger, vitsetegninger, film og TV-serier får vi presentert ulike svigermorbilder for kvinner og menn. De stereotype fremstillingene vitner om at det ligger noe gjemt i kulturen som antyder vanskelige relasjoner. Hva er det som står på spill? «Svigermor kommer» er et engasjert og underholdende foredrag om familierelasjoner og en øyeåpner for kulturelle og sosiale mønstre vi alle er en del av – og som for noen viser seg å være svært utfordrende.
