Med boka “Husjomfru” avslutter Hoem familiekrøniken om familien fra Rekneslia. Bøkene har fått en stor leserskare og er kritikerroste. "Husjomfru" forteller om livet til Julie Elisabeth Hoem, felemaker Lars Olsen Hoems yngste datter.
Edvard Hoem debuterte som forfatter i 1969 og har siden skrevet både romaner, dramatikk, salmer og Shakespeare-gjendiktgninger. Hoem er en av Norges mest folkekjære forfattere, han har mottatt et vell av priser - blant annet Kritikerprisen, Språkprisen og Brages hederspris i 2019.
