Fredag 24. mai feirer Uncanny plateslipp, med Grant The Sun som special guests.
En menneskelik utstillingsdukke i et butikkvindu. Gamle, smilende dukker på loftet. Mark Zuckerberg på høring. Noe som burde virke trygt, men som likevel etterlater deg med en fornemmelse av ubehag. Uncanny er lyden av gråsonen mellom det kjente og det ukjente – tre menn med et mål om å skape stemninger du ikke greier å slå deg til ro med.
Uncanny er en hardtslående, instrumental trio som skiller seg ut i jungelen av progressiv metall. Våren 2024 kommer de med sin første fullengder «Shroomsday», et dynamisk album med in-your-face-metall som kommer raskt til poenget så vel som sarte, store prog-epos – kjemisk renset for trommesamples og med bøttevis av naturlig rom. Seige og melodiske låter tvinger deg til å headbange rett før hodet ditt rives av, og uendelige riff frakter deg gjennom Uncannys glitchy rike, som et tog uten bremser.Albumet følger opp deres selvtitulerte EP fra 2016 som høstet gode kritikker i inn- og utland, fra etablerte nettsteder så vel som nisjeblogger. I 2017 ble Uncanny håndplukket av Dillinger Escape Plan til å varme opp for dem på Rockefeller under deres egen avskjedsturné.

Special guests: Grant The Sun
Grant The Sun er et postmetalband fra Follo, bestående Markus Lillehaug Johnsen, Håvard Sveberg og Martin Rygge. Bandet ønsker med debutalbumet “Voyage” å utvide metalens noe konservative handlingsrom med nye farger og teksturer.
Britiske Metal Hammer skriver at bandet er en «unique twist on multi-layered instrumentality». Også toneangivende Metalsucks var fulle av lovord. “Say… anyone out there dig progressive groove?
