"Dystopia" underlines the anxiety that we're all beginning to articulate - the world may never be the same again.

Dystopia started as a club concept in one of the worst times to start one. Last month in #bergentechnocity.

We are very grateful to have an artist like Charles / Matrixxman come all the way from Berlin to join us on this one. He will be tested upon arrival before doing quarantine for 10 days in order to do this safely and secure for everyone.

Although he’s known primarily for his work in the techno realm as of late, his musical range extends well beyond the confines of dance music.

Initially he honed his skills producing extensively for some of the west coast’s most notorious figures in gangster rap; YG and Ty$. After growing bored of the routine, his pursuit of what he refers to as “some cold ass futuristic shit,” led him down an unforeseen path of experimentation touching on 2 step garage, post-dubstep, grime, and other facets of UK Bass music.

Several years later he ultimately settled into his groove with something straddling the divide between Chicago House and Detroit Techno. Although truth be told, it was nothing new to him. Word of his diverse production chops spread within the industry culminating in his recent work with Depeche Mode on their album “Spirit”. It’s not often that an artist can cover such range without faltering but then again Matrixxman has always eschewed conformity. The only thing you can definitively conclude about him is that you never know what the fuck he’s going to do next.

Thomas Urv is one of the key players of the norwegian techno scene after having played different radioshows and nearly every club, festival and illegal rave in Norway, ever since he purchased a pair of Technics decks 14 years old, back in 1990.

Thomas has promoted countless clubnights and big events around Norway, presenting numerous international techno acts and djing alongside more. Artists like Luke Slater, Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Surgeon, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Paul Woolford, Dj Hell, Dave Clarke, Mathew Jonson, Robert Hood, Tiesto, Slam, Speedy J, Kevin Saunderson, Oliver Ho, Marcel Dettmann, Marco Carola, Radio Slave, Ben Sims, James Ruskin, CJ Bolland, Claude Young… The list goes on to include many of the biggest techno acts that has yet made it up north to little Norway.

Over the years his touring schedule has taken him all across Europe and Canada, performing at clubs such as Fabric in London and Berghain in Berlin, as well as festivals such as ADE and Bestival.

As the founder of Krill Music, Espen Lauritzen has wasted no time in brandishing his driving style of techno Though coined from Espen's new residence in Europe (as of 2010 from Argentina), the label's importance for the history of the South American dance-music scene can be seen as objectively invaluable - its foothold dating back to 2011 . With the help of the now established DJ and friend, Jonas Kopp and Argentina's infamous Cocoliche club, Lauritzen and his label have risen through the ranks, maintaining a solid position of notoriety in contemporary techno.

Since moving to Europe in 2010, Lauritzen's output has naturally refined itself. Constantly producing, yet seldom releasing, the Argentinian has an admirable trait of releasing at the right place and right time. F/T/S landed on London-based label LDNwht maiden release (curated by Gareth Wild and Dax J) back in 2014, which has since become an underground goldmine for DJs, presenting itself in the form of various artist releases. So effective was the release that it picked up some serious support from Berghain resident Fiedel who has since featured the track (along with id B) in his latest mix for Ostgut Ton . Such was the belief in the Norwegian-cum-Argentinian, Espen started off 2018 DJing for Berghain's Klubnacht, hosted by Fiedel.

In 2019 Espen moved to Kyiv, Ukraine where he holds a residency at MetaCulture.

Having proven his hand at being label boss, DJ and producer, Lauritzen's efforts at the three always seem to be shifting its emphasis. Krill has proudly released over 11 records and with a roster boasting the likes of Jonas Kopp, Stanislav Tolkachev, Matrixxman to mention but a few, the legacy of Krill and Espen Lauritzen continues to prove itself - all at the hands of the ambition of the man behind it all.
